HOLY FAMILY PARISH HISTORY PAGE


The first Mass was celebrated in the basement of the present church building on December 8, 1950. The first pastor was appointed in 1952.
The present church was built is three phases:

1950 - The basement (presently the Parish Hall)
1955 - The second story
1965 - The church was renovated (as we know it today)

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of parishioners and pastors of past decades, the Parish has been debt free since 1972.

With the development of the Windsor Park area, two new parishes sprung out of Holy Family in 1961 - St. Bernadette and Saints-Martyrs-Canadiens.
From the onset, Holy Family has been a bilingual Parish, and it still offers bilingual services according to the need and pastoral situations.
